Getting Started
What is the ECO Portal?
The ECO Portal is a tool that collects and shows Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) from many Program Operators in one place. EPDs are digital certificates that state a product’s environmental impact over its life (for example, its CO₂ footprint).
If you are a non-developer, this is where you can find and explore EPDs. If you are a developer, you can also use the API to build upon the platform.
What is an EPD?
An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a standardized digital document that provides detailed information about the environmental impact of a product throughout its life cycle. EPDs are based on the international standard EN 15804 and contain data on factors such as carbon emissions, energy usage, and resource consumption.
You can think of an EPD as a “nutrition label” for products that shows their environmental impact in a standardized way.
For technical details on the format used, see the Data Format documentation.
